RADFORD, Va. – UPDATE
Three firefighters and one employee were taken to the hospital after a fire at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant Thursday morning.

The fire happened around 11:41 a.m. in a "mix-house" production building, according to a communications manager Christopher Finley with BAE Systems, Inc., the operating contractor of the facility.
Finley says that one employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment of burns, and three firefighters who responded to the incident were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure for smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion.
Onsite safety, health and environmental teams as well as local fire departments from Radford, Christiansburg and Fairlawn responded to the fire.
All associated production has been suspended and the fire is contained, according to Finley.
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Army and BAE Systems.
