ROANOKE – A Giles County man charged with human trafficking and abduction is scheduled to be back in court. According to the Commonwealth's Attorney, Gary Gusler is accused of bonding females out of the New River Valley Regional Jail and then holding them in his home against their will. Investigators say they found letters and phone conversations in his home, showing he may have used women for sexual favors throughout Virginia since 2014.

If you're interested in being a Virginia State Police Trooper there is an info session at Radford University. The career prep conference is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Texas Roadhouse is donating 100 percent of profits to the American Red Cross and other local organizations helping with Hurricane Harvey and Irma recovery. Texas and Florida provided more than 50,000 meals to shelters and first responders after the storms. You can visit a restaurant today from 4 to 10 p.m. In Christiansburg, Lynchburg or Roanoke.

A new research center opens in Roanoke at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Center. Scientists will tackle the threat of lifestyle diseases - medical conditions such as obesity and diabetes - that are caused or aggravated by a person's own behavior. The ribbon cutting is this afternoon, followed by a special lecture by Leonard Epstein, the creator of the "Traffic Light Diet," tonight at 5:30. He will tell the story of how basic behavioral science has been used to create innovative approaches to military problems, animal training, developmental disabilities, and drug addiction.

There's a town hall meeting tonight at 6:30 to talk about the new Virginia Tech master plan. About every 10 years, Virginia Tech comes up with a new plan mapping out a vision for the university's future physical growth. The university's newest campus master plan will be finalized by the end of the year. It will plan how Virginia Tech operates throughout its Virginia locations in Blacksburg, Roanoke, and Northern Virginia. It seeks to develop facilities for interdisciplinary collaboration and industry partnerships; strategies for using current spaces efficiently; and solutions to house students, faculty, and researchers. The meeting is in the New Classroom Building, Room 260. It is open to the university community and the public.

Jeff Foxworthy will be at Liberty University's Convocation. The University is rolling out its new global initiative, G5. Foxworthy will help explain what G5 is. He's been working with Compassion International, where you can sponsor a child in poverty. He'll talk about how students can get involved.
