Roanoke Catholic shuts out The Covenant School in 59-0 win

Roanoke Catholic took control early in their football game against The Covenant School.

Leading 8-0 in the first quarter, Celtics quarterback Mason Williams connected with Rahem Lipford out wide. Lipford broke through the middle and ran 42 yards for a touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0.

Lipford scored again on a 60-yard sweep. The two-point conversion pass to Zion Goode made the score 22-0.

Near the end of the first quarter, the Celtics struck again when Yajae Hairston caught a punt at his own 35-yard line and returned it all the way for a touchdown.

Roanoke Catholic went on to win the game 59-0.
