(James Blair/NASA via AP)CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The commander of Boeing’s first astronaut flight has pulled himself off the crew so he’s on Earth — not at the International Space Station — for his daughter’s wedding next year. He has been replaced on the Starliner crew by NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore, who had been training as a backup for the test flight. In December or early January, Boeing plans to repeat a Starliner test flight without a crew, in hopes of reaching the space station this time. SpaceX, meanwhile, plans to launch its second astronaut flight at the end of this month.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – In the first meeting between the two teams on the gridiron, the Liberty Flames defeated the North Alabama Lions 28-7. This is the first time since 2017 that Liberty has started the season 3-0. Ferguson finished with 3 passing TDs. While the passing game wasn’t quite as effective, the rushing attack was relentless. For the third straight game, running back Joshua Mack tallied more than 100 yards (130) while the team finished with 250 yards.

Liberty enters game week with Western Kentucky by naming Auburn transfer Malik Willis as their starting quarterback. Willis wins the initial battle with Maine grad transfer Chris Ferguson for the job. He will become the first quarterback not named “Buckshot” to start for the Flames in 43 games. He was Auburn’s backup for two seasons after being a prep star out of Atlanta, Georgia.
