The chain tested out alcohol at 100 locations before the coronavirus pandemic, and the response was overwhelmingly possible. Kraft Heinz — formed in a 2015 merger — has been struggling as consumers increasingly seek fresh, minimally processed foods. Kraft Heinz CEO Miguel Patricio said the sale of the natural cheese brands is an example of that portfolio management. Lactalis Group — whose brands include President specialty cheese and Stonyfield Organic yogurt — said the Kraft Heinz brands are a good strategic fit.

NRN reports that the company announced during an investors call Tuesday that reopened restaurants are shifting to a new menu that includes new offerings such as chicken pot pie and Saturday fried pork chops.
