Tennessee announced Tuesday an extension through 2029 for head coach Josh Heupel that will pay him a salary of $9 million per season with incentives.

The Tennessee Volunteers are proving just how quickly a traditional powerhouse can rebound despite seeming lost for well over a decade.

College football fans celebrating a rare victory over the University of Alabama threw goalposts in the river.

The Volunteers were fined following their 52-49 win over Alabama Saturday, when fans ripped up a goal post and heaved it into the Tennessee River.

The Southeastern Conference has fined Tennessee $100,000 for a wild, field-storming celebration after a win over Alabama. Meanwhile, the school has turned to fans to help pay for new goalposts. The league announced the fine on Sunday for the school's second violation of the access to competition area policy.

White was hired last week to replace the retiring Phillip Fulmer and hiring a new coach was his first task.
