Nebraska has advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time.

Tyler Tanner scored 20 points as No. 22 Vanderbilt beat fourth-ranked Florida 91-74 to end the defending national champion’s bid to win a second straight Southeastern Conference Tournament title and possibly hurt the Gators’ bid for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The calendar says it’s March.

Denver Jones scored 21 points as No. 1 Auburn held off Vanderbilt 80-68 Tuesday night to avoid the Tigers’ first losing skid of the season.

Tyler Nickel’s 3-pointer with 1:50 left put Vanderbilt ahead to stay as the Commodores upset a Top 10 team on their home court for a second straight Saturday by beating No. 9 Kentucky 74-69.

Sean Pedulla and Justyn Mutts had 18 points apiece for Virginia Tech
