October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Roanoke marked it with a powerful walk to honor survivors and remember lives lost.

Lance McCullers Jr. finally got some peace of mind on Tuesday night.

For survivors of domestic abuse like Erika Ramirez, the journey to freedom wasn’t an easy one.

“I’m learning the difference between a victim and a survivor. And it feels good to know that I’ve survived,” said Ramirez.
