It started at around 8:45 p.m. when police tried to take a wanted man into custody, according to the Roanoke City Police Department. The suspect led police on a short chase, which police said ended near Hollins Road NE and Mason Mill Road NE after police used spikes to disable the tires on his vehicle. There werenโt any residents nearby during the standoff, according to police. The heavy police presence near Hollins Road prompted several roadblocks and forced residents to take detours.
