A portion of Riverland Road will be closed to through traffic to allow construction to begin on pedestrian improvements on a section of Riverland Road and the Star Trail parking lot.

Authorities are at the scene of Riverland Road, near the 9th Street bridge after a body was recovered from the Roanoke River, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

ROANOKE, Va. - A new autism program is coming to Roanoke next month. Centra will be opening its second Rivermont Autism program school on Riverland Road. Students ages 6 to 22 with autism and other developmental disabilities will receive therapeutic help.
