The Weeknd sang all of his popular radio bops like “Blinding Lights” and “Earned It” with a choir and band jamming out behind him as well as a masked dance crew out on the field. But of course, in true Internet fashion, people on Twitter didn’t miss out on making memes out of the performance.
The Weeknd and NFL release limited-edition wardrobe collections
To coincide with his upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance, The Weeknd teamed up with the NFL, Roc Nation and Bravado to create limited-edition Super Bowl-themed apparel. The apparel designs also include the XO typography, along with a skeleton — wearing facial bandages mimicking those recently worn by The Weeknd — above Raymond James Stadium, the site of Super Bowl LV. According to the NFL, this is the league's most extensive product launch for a Super Bowl halftime show performer. The capsule adds to The Weeknd's stated plans to create a different experience for Super Bowl fans. Super Bowl LV is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

Pepsi's halftime show may star The Weeknd, but the company hopes its new campaign will create buzz for the show the entire month. The PepsiCo beverage brand is replacing its traditional Super Bowl ad slot with a new campaign to lead-in to its halftime show featuring the musician. Pepsi, which will be sponsoring the Super Bowl's halftime show for the tenth year, said this marks the first time the company has featured its halftime show talent in a commercial about the show. Kaplan said the company is taking an optimistic tack with its own ad. It will also have retail promotions with store displays in locations of stores including Kroger, Target, 7-Eleven, Dollar General.
