Lynchburg city officials announced Wednesday that the next stage of utility and infrastructure improvements for its Downtown Renewal Project is set to begin in the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Main Street.

The long-term project intends to improve traffic flow and reduce the number of crashes, but drivers say so far the test has led to backups, especially during rush hour.
