One Vinton man is hoping his story of hardships and hard-time inspires others to persevere and he does so by telling his story through wood. โI see things in wood in art. My hands for some reason have to continually move. I think it is a creative instinct.โ

The injury-plagued Rockets were playing just their fourth game of the season where Christian Wood, Victor Oladipo and John Wall were all available. Wall had 21 points and seven assists, Oladipo had 19 points, and Wood 18 points and 11 rebounds. Rockets: Wall was charged with a flagrant foul on a second-quarter collision with Frank Jackson and later received a technical foul for arguing with officials in the third quarter.

A man with autism has the new heart he so desperately needed, all thanks to the nurse who adopted him. But when Pickard found out he would need a heart transplant and he could die without one, his lack of a support system made him ineligible to be on the transplant list. He had been in and out of the hospital for a while when he was put under ICU nurse Lori Woods care. Tests have to be done but theyre not wanting to do tests because of no family support, Wood said. I had a room, I was a nurse, I could take care of him.Pickard moved in soon after and received his heart transplant last August.

This man wasn't supposed to live past his first birthday. His parents were told he wouldnt make it past the age of one. Now that he's live 65 amazing years, his family wanted to mark the occasion with a photo shoot. Buddy's parents of course did not do that and brought him home to live with his siblings. Buddys niece also invited a local toddler, 2-year-old Sutton, who also has Down syndrome, to join Buddy in the pictures.
