ROANOKE, Va. – After a very atypical start to the day with thunder and ice, we’ll see temperatures rocket into the 60s by the afternoon. Rain will wrap up by about midday, giving way to partly cloudy skies this evening.
Our next chance of precipitation comes Saturday as more moisture enters the region. We’ll end up seeing mostly rain, with only the highest elevations seeing any form of wintry mix.
Next week still appears to be unsettled, as models are not in agreement with what will happen. As of right now, a wintry mix on Monday through Wednesday appears likely due to multiple frontal systems entering the region.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on next week, but it appears likely we’ll see some form of precipitation with this increasingly unsettled pattern.
