Storms move in Wednesday afternoon

Radar scans on Wednesday morning show a few showers and storms starting to work their way into parts of West Virginia.

As we continue to see storms developing, the coverage will be scattered at best, but a few of these storms could pack a punch.

Radar as of 9:32AM (WSLS 2026)

Our SPC outlook has changed a bit since Wednesday morning; the Marginal Risk has now moved further south to now cover the majority of our viewing area, barring the southern portions of the NRV and Highlands.

The main concern with Wednesday afternoon’s storms will be small hail and gusty winds. So be sure to stay weather aware and in a place where you can hear alerts if they are issued.

SPC Day 1 (WSLS 2026)

Futurecast shows these storms forming around lunchtime and continuing on and off throughout the afternoon and evening. This will be a day where some stay dry, and others see a quick storm passing through.

Any precipitation should be wrapped up by 11 p.m.

We will close out the week in the 80s, but another big drop in temperatures is expected from Saturday to Monday when our next cold front arrives. Have a great day!
