Man dies after hit-and-run involving pedestrian in Pulaski County

The 54-year-old died after being flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

PULASKI, Va. – The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the 54-year-old man who died after a hit-and-run crash Monday night.

Authorities say Peter James Bednasz, 54, who had a last known address in Tennessee, was walking along Route 100 when he was hit.

Bednasz was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he later died.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run that happened on Route 100  around 8 p.m. Monday.

A pedestrian was hit by a dark pickup truck that was last seen headed south on Route 100 toward Interstate 81, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities believe the truck may be a Chevy Silverado and it may be a model made in or around 2007.
