493 mandolin players set world record in Galax
GALAX (WSLS 10) - Tuesday, 493 mandolin players strummed four songs that got them into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest mandolin ensemble in history.
This record shatters the previous record of 414 players set in Greece in 2014. The fiddlers convention attracts about 30,000 people to the area each year, and is hailed as the largest festival of its kind in the world.
