In its article earlier this month, the paper noted, the "best advice is go local. Order the country scrambled canoe that comes with eggs, bacon, sausage or ham, cheddar cheese and those glorious biscuits with sausage gravy."
The Roanoker has been open for 73 years and has been using the same biscuit recipe ever since.
"It's pretty exciting," owner Butch Craft said of the attention. "Especially for all the people who roll out those biscuits for so many years. I can't take the credit. I am excited for the recognition for the restaurant."
This isn't the first time The Roanoker received national attention. It was on the Today Show back in 2011 after being featured in the book, Off the Eaten Path.
