Non-wovens are flat, porous sheets made from fibers that are bonded mechanically, thermally, or chemically. Officials say everyday examples are wipes and absorbent products. Edelmann expects to be in operation in Rocky Mount by the end of February.
Over the next several months, officials say the company will be hiring software specialists, electricians and industrial equipment maintenance staff.
The company plans to hire five to ten new employees. Employees that are hired initially will have the opportunity to advance over time as the company and number of employees grows, according to Edelmann Technology officials.
The company has entered into a lease agreement with the Franklin County Board of Supervisors to move into a County-owned building in Downtown Rocky Mount.
Edelmann Technology was assisted by the Franklin County Office of Economic Development, the Roanoke Regional Partnership and the Town of Rocky Mount.
