ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Roanoke County boy scout finished work on a garden to honor a local fallen hero.
Jacob Stritesky landscaped an area outside Northside High School as part of an Eagle Scout project. He said the project and resulting garden is in honor of T.J. Conrad, a Northside graduate who was killed in Afghanistan in 2012.

"I looked back and I thought, 'I think this is really good for T.J. Hopefully, when his wife sees it, I hope she really appreciates it, but I just thought it was really pretty.. really beautiful," Stritesky explained.
He said it took 150 hours to finish the project. School administrators said they are so proud of Stritesky's efforts to honor T.J. Conrad.
