Private memorial service planned for Alison Parker
ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - No details about funeral arrangements for Alison Parker have been announced.
However, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date after a private memorial service.
Instead of sending flowers, her family asks that donations be made to the Alison B. Parker Memorial Fund at JMU or to the Valley Stars and Salvation Army of Roanoke.
James Madison University, Alison's Alma Mater, plans to hold a vigil on Wednesday at 6:45 a.m. at the quad on campus.
School leaders say it will be simple but will give the JMU community a change to reflect on her life.
