WISH – INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – On Sunday Miss America was crowned and even though Miss Colorado, Kelly Johnson didn't win she was still the talk of social media.
During the Miss America Pageant Johnson performed an original monologue about her work as a nurse for patients with Alzheimer's. Her story about a patient who changed her life stole the show.

However, on the show "The View" the hosts seemed to mock her speech.
Host Michelle Collins said Johnson "came in a nurse's uniform and did not win," jokingly. Co-host, Joy Behar also chimed in asking why she was wearing a stethoscope.
Thousands of people went to Twitter and voiced their opinion on the hosts remarks using #NursesUnite.
I love being a nurse! Caring for someone in the most vulnerable time of their life is a very humbling thing. #nursesunite

#nursesunite is much more than a hashtag. The proof is on social media this am as so many nurses defend our career & passion. #ProudNurse
