DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - The lawsuit against the City of Danville - after the Confederate flag was removed from the Museum of Fine Arts and History - has been dismissed.

According to Robert Byrd, President of the Danville Chapter of the Heritage Preservation Association, the group that filed the lawsuit reported the suit was dismissed because the judge said it had no grounds to sue the city.

Byrd also said, even though the city came to a resolution with the HPA during the 90s, the judge said a resolution is not a binding agreement.

Byrd has not decided if he is going to file an appeal. He has 30 days to do so.
