The store offers private labels and bulk items at a low price to help customers save money on their grocery bill.

"We've been running out of carts," commented Aldi's District Manager Samantha Ore, "We love the people coming out. Everyone's had a great attitude about waiting in line, because it's the excitement coming into the area. People have been anticipating it."

Earlier in the day, workers handed out recyclable and reusable grocery bags to all shoppers.

Management said they are planning to open an Aldi's in Lynchburg early in 2016.
