Southwest Virginia women compete on Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Two local women and graduates of Virginia Tech are taking on Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge.

Rachel Burks and Allison Haynes go head to head Sunday night in the "summit race" on CMT.

Rachel graduated from Cave Spring High School and Allison lives in Christiansburg.

We talked to Rachel, who now lives in Richmond, over the phone about keeping in touch with the other contestants.

"The ladies that were on the show were all awesome and incredible athletes who all have their own individual unique traits that make them who they are. They all got to the show for a reason," Rachel explained.
