The library has a new children's area, study and meeting rooms, as well as a cafe vending space.

New books and materials cost $100,000.

"It's just exciting because the other library was so small and you walk in and this seems so huge now so you get the feeling that there's more to offer here," said Patricia Fore, a Roanoke resident.

There's also a teen area with computers and a music-recording room.
