ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke City Police remembered Najee Tynes, an officer who took his own life, Sunday night.
The Alpha Platoon held a remembrance service at the Officer Down Memorial in downtown Roanoke.
Tynes took his life at the Roanoke Police Department Wednesday.
Members of the force and community spoke about the late officer and called him loving and honorable. Speakers also addressed sharing love, leaning on each other for guidance and taking care of Tyne's Daughter.
Police said they are working to set up a college fund for the young girl.
