Man found dead on Drillfield was retired VT employee

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - The man found dead on Virginia Tech's Drillfield on Monday has been identified as a 63-year-old retired employee of Virginia Tech's biochemistry department.
Edward R. Willis, of Blacksburg, died Monday afternoon after collapsing on the Drillfield across the street from Campbell Hall, according to Virginia Tech.
Virginia Tech Police and Virginia Tech Rescue Squad members responded to a 911 call at 2:42 p.m., but were unable to revive him with CPR.
