VINTON – The festival opens with a Carnival Midway on Wednesday, April 26 at the old William Byrd High School ballfield, providing entertainment for kids and adults alike.
Cole Shows Amusement Company, Inc. will be returning as the carnival midway supplier for 2017 with free gate admission every day (carnival rides, games, concessions vary in price), and even a Pay-One-Price-Ride-All-Night event on Wednesday, April 26. Best of all, live entertainment is held nightly on the Main Stage. The carnival will run every night between the 26th and the 30th.
Dogwood Saturday, April 29, features a 5K run/walk, craft, food and retail vendors, 2 entertainment stages, a free Kids' Zone with inflatables, and a petting zoo, the crowning of the Vinton Dogwood queen and much more.
The annual Dogwood Festival Parade kicks off at 2:30 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial and the Carnival Midway stays open until 11 p.m. with live entertainment provided by Riptide on the main stage till 10 p.m.
