Lynchburg man arrested, faces multiple child pornography charges

LPD's forensics unit was investigating his online activities

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Police arrested a 59-year-old Lynchburg man who they say both distributed and possessed child pornography.

The Lynchburg Police Department's Forensics Unit, an affiliate member of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant Monday at the home of Keith Thienemann in the 300 block of Northwynd Circle.

Thienemann was arrested without incident and charged with one count of distribution of child pornography and 10 counts of possession of child pornography. 

He is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority’s Lynchburg Adult Detention Center without bond.

The forensics unit initiated an investigation into Thienemann’s online activities earlier this year.
