UPDATE: 2 hospitalized after multi-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, VA – UPDATE: Virginia State Police say two people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident Saturday. 

Police said the crash involved six cars and two tractor trailers. 

Upon arrival, crews found a tractor trailer and a car fully engulfed in flames. 

Charges are pending. 

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

Drivers can expect major delays due to a tractor trailer accident near mile marker 123.4 on Interstate 81 in Montgomery County. 

V-DOT says all north lanes are closed and the south left shoulder is closed. 

Traffic is backed up approximately seven miles. 

Traffic is being diverted off of I-81 North at Exit 118C.
