DANVILLE, Va. – A local commonwealth attorney's office could soon have extra help dealing with victims and witnesses.
The Danville office has received a state grant worth $44,635.
It is an annual grant, but for 2017 the amount has been increased.
This gives the commonwealth attorney the option to hire a second assistant to work with the office's victim-witness coordinator.
A first reading for an ordinance to appropriate the money will be held at the May 16 City Council meeting.
