Man steals firearm from Roanoke Gun show

It happened Saturday at the Berglund Center

ROANOKE, Va. – A man was caught on surveillance video stealing a firearm from a gun show in Roanoke.

Virginia State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man. According to Sgt. Rick Gartletts with Virginia State Police, the man stole a Colt 44 magnum anaconda, a collectible firearm valued at $2,100.

The gun was stolen Saturday from a booth at the Berglund Center set up by Commonwealth Collectibles, a firearm store out of Buchanan.

In the surveillance video, the man can be seen walking past the table several times. Unnoticed due to the crowd, he used a cutting tool to clip the security wire off the gun. Moments later he walked back to table and quickly picked up the gun and put it in his utility bag.

The man is believed to be in his mid to late 50s or 60s, has white hair, and wears glasses. At the time of the theft, the man was wearing a blue t-shirt, khaki pants, sandals with socks and carried a brown utility bag with a crossbody strap.
