ROANOKE, Va. – Steven Matney is feeling good, thanks to a new suit from Total Action for Progress. Matney's goal is to find a manufacturing or welding job to help support his two kids and he's hoping the new suit will get him there.
"It does help to look good when you go and try to apply for things and get into school. It creates a better impression than T-shirts and jeans," said Matney.
From suit jackets to pants to ties, TAP's closet was stocked. Each man who stopped in got a chance to look through the closet, try on some options, and then take home a whole new outfit.and hopefully a whole new perspective on the dreams they can accomplish.
"There's something about putting on that shirt, that tie and that jacket that just makes you step a little lighter, makes you feel a little better and that's what we're all about here today," said Nick Kline, fatherhood development specialist.
The suits were donated to Men's Wearhouse by the community this summer. And now the suits have a new home with men grateful for the generosity.
"Thank you. I'm extremely grateful, I don't really know how to express it more than that. It kind of feels like being a brand new man for a bit," said Matney.
