Pancakes being served all day in Martinsville

'Pancake Day' raises money for local organizations that help kids

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – There is still time to get all the pancakes and sausage you can eat for $6 and help out local kids in the process.

Martinsville-Henry County Kiwanis Club members will be serving pancakes in Uptown Martinsville until 7 p.m.

They started serving at 6:30 a.m. Thursday and expect to serve around 2,500 people.

The club holds this fundraiser in April and October to raise money for local organizations that provide services to kids.

"We give to so many different organizations, different clubs throughout Martinsville and Henry County I couldn't name them all," said Kiwanis Club volunteer Jason Muehleck. "We've been doing this for 50 plus years and every year it seems to get better and better."

Part of the money will also be used to fund a college scholarship for Martinsville High School students.
