AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – The Amherst County Sheriff's Office arrested four people it says broke into a home and attacked two people on Sunday.
At about 1:30 a.m. deputies responded to 959 Warrick Barn Road in Amherst after a 27-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were assaulted in their home.
Authorities say the two suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. There were also three juveniles in the home at the time who were unharmed.
The subjects involved did know each other, according to the Sheriff's Office.
James William Gunter, 37, Timothy Wayne Burks, 34, Jessica Ann Branham, 29, and Rebecca Nicole Cash, 29, all from Amherst, were arrested and charged with breaking and entering, assault and battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
All subjects were released on various bonds.
