Roanoke police say Nicholas Sherman found dead in SUV

Sherman found on 3000 block of Lombardy Avenue NW, near Roanoke Country Club

ROANOKE, Va. – UPDATE: Roanoke Police say a man reported missing just yesterday was found dead in an SUV in the 3000 block of Lombardy Avenue near the Roanoke Country Club.

Police say they were responding to a call of a body inside a silver 2005 Toyota 4-Runner with Virginia tags this morning.

The vehicle was associated with Nicholas Sherman.

Roanoke Police say the body has been taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The department added that the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the RPD Tip Line at (540) 344-8500.

Campbell County Sheriff's Office and Roanoke City Police are looking for Nicholas Sherman.

They say he was last seen at a combination Taco Bell and Pizza Hut restaurant on Washington Avenue in Vinton February 15th.

 That was around 4 p.m.

He was last seen wearing brown boots and jeans, and has scars on his left arm and both thighs.

He also was carrying an Under Armour bookbag.

Police say his cell phone has been off since 5 p.m. Thursday, and his credit card hasn't shown any activity since that morning.
