Places offering special deals on Veterans Day

With Veterans Day upon us, there are lots of business around the state offering discounts for veterans and their families throughout the weekend.

The actual day, it's worth noting, is on Sunday.

Here are some weekend deals we found on the website MilitaryBenefits.info, although participation may vary. Call or check online with the restaurant or attraction you're planning on visiting to make sure that you'll receive the promotion that you're anticipating.

Applebee’s - Veterans and Active Duty Military can select a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day. Proof of service is required.

Bob Evans - Bob Evans Restaurants are offering free select menu items to veterans and active duty military on Veterans Day, Sun., Nov. 11.

Buffalo Wild Wings - All day long on Sunday, November 11, veterans and active duty military who dine-in at their local B-Dubs can receive a free one order of traditional or boneless wings and a side of fries. 

Chili’s Grill & Bar - All veterans and active duty military personnel can choose a complimentary meal from a select menu on Veterans Day 2018.

Chipotle - Offering a buy one get one free burrito, bowl, salad or taco on Veterans Day from open to close. The offer is valid for all active duty military, reserves, national guard, military spouses and retired military with valid ID.

Country Cookin' - Active, reserve, and retired military personnel receive a free meal on Tuesday, November 13 from 2  p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cracker Barrel - Veterans receive a complimentary Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola® Cake dessert or Crafted Coffee beverage. Plus an opportunity for guests to make purchases that support Operation Homefront.  Veterans Day only.

Dunkin’ Donuts - On November 11, Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free doughnut at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide, no purchase necessary.

Golden Corral - On Monday, November 12th, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Golden Corral offers a free sit-in “thank you” dinner for Military veterans, retirees, and active duty members.

Hooters - Hooters invites all veterans and current servicemen and women to a Hooters Veterans Day free meal from their select Veterans Day menu by presenting a military ID or proof of service at participating Hooters locations across the country on 11-11.

K&W Cafeteria - Free meal that includes your choice of entrée, two vegetables, bread and a refillable beverage, with the presentation of your military ID on Monday. The offer is valid from 11 a.m. to closing.

Little Caesars Pizza - On Saturday, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active military members can receive a free $5 HOT-N-READY® Lunch Combo.

Logan’s Roadhouse - This Veterans Day, veterans and active duty drop on in for an American Roadhouse Meal on the house with proof of service. Veterans year round receive a 10% discount when they present a military or veterans’ ID.

James Madison's Montpelier (Montpelier Station) - Friday through Sunday, Montpelier says “thank you” to all U.S. military veteran guests with a free house tour and museum shop discount.

Mission BBQ - Free sandwiches and cake for all veterans and active duty military personnel

Monticello (Charlottesville) - U.S. military veterans can receive complimentary admission to Monticello for Veterans Day Saturday through Monday. 

Mount Vernon - Free admission to Mount Vernon for all active duty, former, or retired military personnel on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

O’Charley’s - All active and retired military service members are invited to enjoy a free meal from O’Charley’s. Veterans can choose from O’Charley’s “Veterans Thank You Menu” all day on both November 11 and 12 simply by showing their military IDs. 

Pilot Flying J - From November 10–12, active-duty and retired military veterans can redeem an offer in the Pilot Flying J app to enjoy a free Pilot Coffee of any size with their choice of a PJ Fresh breakfast sandwich, packaged pastry item or a Cinnabon Center of the Roll.

Red Lobster - On Sunday and Monday, November 11th and 12th to thank veterans, active duty military and reservists, Red Lobster will offer a free appetizer or dessert from their select Veterans Day menu. To receive the offer, show a valid military ID.

Red Robin - Free Red's Tavern Double burger with bottomless steak fries on Sunday

Ruby Tuesday - This Veterans Day, all former and active duty service members of the military can enjoy a free appetizer.

Sharkey's Wing & Rib Joint (Blacksburg & Radford) - One free meal and half-off all food for family

Sheetz - Free 6-inch turkey sub and a regular-size fountain drink. Free carwash at locations that offer carwashes.

Starbucks - On Veterans Day, active duty service members, reservists, veterans and military spouses are invited to enjoy a free tall brewed coffee.

Texas Roadhouse - Free lunch for active, former or retired military on Veterans Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Choose from one of 10 options on the Veterans Day menu.

Tizzone Wood-Fried Kitchen & Wine Bar (Daleville) - One free meal and half-off all food for family

Town Center Tap House (Daleville) - One free meal and half-off all food for your family

Coopers Cove Community Center (Hardy) -- Free spaghetti dinner November 10 for veterans from 5 to 7 p.m.
