Authorities are investigating after a body was found in the water near a dam on the Roanoke River in Vinton, according to the Roanoke County Police Department.
Officials said the body was discovered around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday near the Niagara Dam.
The body will be taken to the medical examiner’s office for identification, according to police.
