Virginia down to 17% of its cities and counties at a high COVID-19 Community Level

28 of Virginia’s 133 localities changed levels from last week

ROANOKE, Va. – Across Virginia, the number of people living in areas where the CDC would recommend masking indoors continues to decrease.

Virginia went from 39 localities at a high-level last week, to 23.

Of those 23, 74% are in Southwest Virginia.

From last week, 17 localities went from a high level, to a medium level.

The CDC recommends that those in areas that have a high COVID-19 Community Level still wear a mask indoors in public.

    • Get tested if you have symptoms
  • Medium
    • If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions
    • Same guidance as Low
