ROANOKE, Va. – A man has been arrested after police said he robbed a Roanoke bank on Tuesday morning.
Around 9:15 a.m., police were notified of a possible bank robbery in the 2800 block of Brambleton Avenue SW.
When officers arrived on the scene, they said that the suspect was no longer at the scene and they set up a perimeter.
Evidence suggested that a man went into the business, showed a weapon, physically assaulted an employee and then took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away.
Police were later able to find the suspect, Brian Brown, 39, or Roanoke. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with robbery.
Authorities said this remains an ongoing investigation.
