Teen arrested, one still wanted in connection with fatal shooting in Danville

The incident happened in the 300 Block of Halifax street, police said

The Danville Police Department has arrested the 14-year-old wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Danville.

He has been charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Nineteen-year-old Marte Wil-Shownn Oliver, who is considered armed and dangerous, is still wanted on the following charges, according to authorities:

  • Robbery
  • Use of a firearm during a felony
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon

Additionally, anyone who has information on the shooting incident or the whereabouts of Oliver is asked to please contact the Danville Police Department.

UPDATE - Aug. 17, 2022

The Danville Police Department is seeking public help in locating two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting.

The incident happened Tuesday at 4:19 p.m. in the 300 block of Halifax Street and ended in the death of 33-year-old Patrick Lanigan Duffy, of Danville.

Marte Wil-Shownn Oliver, 19, who is considered armed and dangerous, is wanted on the following charges in relation to the incident:

  • Robbery
  • Use of a firearm during a felony
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon

In addition, a 14-year-old Danville teen, who will not be identified due to his age, is being sought for robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony from this incident, according to police.

We’re told Oliver was still in possession of a firearm when he left the scene.

Those living on Halifax Street and surrounding areas who may have any video surveillance cameras are still being asked to contact the Danville Police Department through any of the platforms listed below.

Danville police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead on Tuesday.

On Tuesday around 4:19 p.m. the Danville Police Department said they responded to calls of shots fired in the 300 block of Halifax Street.

Authorities said that officers located a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, police said.

Police said they’ve identified the victim, but are working to confirm the identification to notify the family.

No suspect information is available at this time, according to police.

Danville Police Department officers, investigators, and crime scene technicians are at the scene, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
