Amherst County man arrested after authorities seize meth, firearms, more than $7k

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – An Amherst County man has been arrested after the authorities seized drugs, guns, and money from his home on Thursday, according to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office.

The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Virginia Drug & Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3400 block of South Amherst Highway in Amherst County on Thursday, Feb. 16, authorities said.

Authorities said that more than 600 grams of meth, four firearms, and over $7,000 were found during the operation, which led to a man’s arrest.

He was arrested for possession of more than 600 grams of meth with the intent to distribute and possession of four firearms by a convicted violent felon, according to the sheriff’s office. His identity was not released.
