Grayson County deputy helps rescue injured wild pony on Mount Rogers

GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. – A Grayson County Sheriff’s Office animal control deputy is being commended for going above and beyond.

The sheriff’s office recognized Deputy Austin Haga for helping park rangers rescue an injured wild pony on Mount Rogers Tuesday.

Deputy Haga was also recently recognized for his resourcefulness of using a hat band strap as a tourniquet to save a victim from bleeding out.
