Henry Co. man facing charges after fentanyl found in residence

He also faces firearm charges, authorities say

FIELDALE, Va. – A Henry County man is facing charges after investigators found drugs in his home, according to the sheriff’s office.

On Wednesday, June 21, Henry County Sheriff’s Office Investigators executed a search warrant in the 100 block of George Hairston Road in Fieldale, Virginia, authorities said.

According to Col. Wayne Davis, investigators entered the home, they found 39-year-old Michael Hairston armed with a semi-automatic pistol and took him into custody without incident.

During the investigation, authorities said investigators found and seized suspected fentanyl.

Hairston is now facing the following charges, according to Col. Davis:

  • Possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl after having a prior conviction,
  • Possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony,
  • Possession of a firearm while knowingly being in possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled substance.

Hairston is currently held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities said other charges are anticipated.
