Miss America visits the Star City

ROANOKE, Va. – Miss America is in the Star City.

Madison Marsh flew into the Roanoke Airport Thursday afternoon and then met with a group of veterans who provided a motorcycle escort to her hotel.

She’s an Air Force officer and the first-ever active-duty service member to win the crown.

Marsh will be a special guest for several events at the Miss Virginia Pageant.

Preliminaries kick off Thursday night at the Berglund Center.
