ROANOKE, VA – Update:
The RPD has identified the victim involved in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Roanoke on Jan. 18.

According to RPD, after a preliminary investigation, it was determined the vehicle was driving westbound on Dale Ave. when it struck a tree in the median.
The victim in the crash has been identified as 51-year-old Kelly McGinnis Phoenix of Roanoke.

A woman is dead after a crash Saturday morning.
Roanoke Police officers responded to the 2000 block of Dale Ave. SE around 6:40 a.m., after a report of a single vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, the officers located a woman with injuries.
She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
