A new specialty license plate in Virginia will help with improvements along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The customizable tag features a vibrant view of the scenic route and is now available for motorcycles.
It costs $25 a year and will fund repairs at trails, campgrounds and attractions like the Mabry Mill.
The Parkway Foundation believes that driving around the Commonwealth with a unique plate will encourage others.
“Our goal is really just to help the park accomplish the things that maybe aren’t going to be covered by their federal budget, whether that’s fixing a historic cabin or offering music programs at the Blue Ridge Music Center,” Rita Larkin, Director of Communications at the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, said.
A similar program in North Carolina has raised nearly half a million dollars annually for the parkway.
