GALAX, Va. – No injuries were reported after the roof blew off the LingoNetworks Building in Galax on Thursday, officials said.
According to officials, debris was scattered in the area near the Walmart parking lot, and debris also landed on a car in the parking lot but nobody was in the car at the time of the incident.
“We’ve had numerous trees down, we have had some powerlines down. There was one house where a fire resulted from powerlines and trees, causing the roof to catch fire and of course, we have had the damage here behind me where the roof was taken off this commercial building,” James Cox, from the Galax Police Department, said.
