Monterey Elementary School will be opening two hours late on Thursday due to a power outage in the area, according to Roanoke City school officials.
This two-hour delay is the result of a power outage that was caused by an overnight crash on Plantation Road.

Currently, there are approximately 114 Appalachian Customers without power in this area. Crews expected power to be restored by 7:30 a.m.
